Principessa / logo design

Logo design for the gelato maker machine Principessa.
The name chosen by Stefano Grandi for the gelato maker machine comes from the Principessa plateau located in the eastern portion of the Madonie plateau in the province of Palermo. It is in this place that the first neviere were documented as early as the 11th century and later developed between the 16th and 18th centuries.
This fascinating technique of snow conservation was the inspiration for the Princess logo, composed of a funnel part that represents the gelato cone, an overlying part that represents the slopes of the Madonie. The two elements together instinctively recall the idea of gelato. The font we have chosen recall the tradition and the last “A” has been modify using the same geometry of the gelato cone of the logo.
