Liffo, conceived and manufactured by Robomagister srl – an Emilia-based company with a strong drive for innovation – is the world’s first fully automatic kitchen robot. A Personal Chef capable of preparing meals without any supervision.

In collaboration with Sapiens Design Studio, we contributed to its design development with a clear objective: to give this highly technological product a reassuring aesthetic that conveys familiarity, comfort, and warmth.

This is why Liffo draws inspiration from the hearth – a timeless symbol of family, security, and hospitality. The volumes defining its central body are deconstructed and layered, creating a totem of concentric, regular forms. Soft curves are balanced by sharp, precise lines that play with shadows, dematerializing the overall volume.

A distinctive feature is the LED waistband that wraps around Liffo’s body. Serving not just as a visual interface with the user, it further articulates the layered planes through varying angles – a visual nod to stacked cookware that suggests the dynamism of meal preparation.

Finally, Liffo’s lid features two large handles, an iconic element that gives the robot an anthropomorphic quality. This friendly yet strong personality makes it instantly recognizable and a natural part of any kitchen.
